The Story of maibeauty

In the summer of 2013, two girls from Chesterfield, VA, and Lithonia, GA, met in an engineering bridge program on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. Both named Ma(i)ya. Both full of courage and enthusiasm. Both experiencing for the first time what it is like to be in that awkward natural hair phase after their big chop. Maiya Elaine was very talented at hair styling, and Maya Nicole was great at makeup artistry and cosmetics. While styling young women on campus, they realized how much there was a need for women to know what makes them feel beautiful. It was that year that they created Mai Beauty with a vision for a beauty company that empowers women to have confidence in their unique beauty and find their hair and makeup personalities. In 2019 the talented beauty duo established Maiya x Maya LLC (MXM) as a brand that delivers intentionally engineered, quality products to address the needs of people of color. MXM is a brand that channels the individuality of two unique people, proving that there are many ways to express style and beauty. Our goal as MXM is to empower you to look, feel, and be confident. We are excited to share our journey and product releases, but most importantly, MXM looks forward to partnering with our customers to design products that meet their needs.
